Boot Scootin' Birthday Party

So, it's no secret, I LOVE a themed party! My oldest daughter, Iyla is turning 3 and this weekend we hosted a Boot Scootin' Birthday Party in her honor! Miss I* is a sweet girl with a BIG personality! She LOVES to dance and sing, especially to country music; so to celebrate her special day we threw a country-music themed party - it was a BLAST! :)  Here's a recap of the fun!

Sesame Street 2nd Birthday Party at Home

My little Miss I is turning THREE this week and while I am in full party-planning mode getting ready for her Boot-Scootin' Birthday Bash - I wanted to share some pics from last year's shindig.

When Iyla turned two we celebrated with a Sesame Street theme party for our friends and family. I didn't have a blog back then, so these photos are just simple snapshots from our personal family photos. 

:: FOOD & DRINKS :: Our menu was a nacho bar with Sesame Street inspired names (Zoe's Zesty Salsa, Elmo's Tacos). Drinks were "Ernie's Rubber Ducky Punch" and water bottles with personalized labels.  For her cake, I made a cookie-monster cupcake cake; I'm not a baker, but I think it turned out cute. We also had dozens of fresh baked cookies decorated and available for our guests.

:: DECORATIONS :: Almost all of the decorations were hand made. I did find a S.S. scene setter at Party City that I hung on the garage, surrounded by hand cut balloons with each of the little party guests' names. The signs were all drawn or painted by my dad and I. The Count was cut from foam board. The food tents were made in Picasa and printed on card stock.

:: GAMES :: When partying with toddlers, keep the games simple! We played pin the nost on Elmo (from Party City), Freeze Dance, and Cookie Monster Cookie Catch. For this game I decorated a blue bucket with large googly eyes to look like Cookie Monster, the kids took turns tossing "cookies" (little frisbees wrapped in brown paper and decorated with polka dots to look like chocolate chip cookies) into the bucket.
