MODERN MUG RUG WITH GIFT CARD POCKET

10.23.2013

Hold on to your hats, girls - I just finished my latest design challenge for Boutique Challenge Auctions
and get this; IT’S NOT FOR KIDS! ::Gasp!::
After four years of selling creations exclusively for kiddos, I’ve made a little something awesome for YOU!

YAY!

The challenge was to create a mug rug. This was a great challenge for me because I am not a quilter!
I’ve never made anything like this before, so I looked around the ‘net a bit scoping out pictures and getting a better idea of what a mug rug looks like - then I did what I do best and just went for it. This mug-rug is my own design and I am SO happy with the way it came together!

TUTORIAL: TRICK OR TREAT TOTE BAG WITH REFLECTIVE TAPE

10.10.2013

Around these parts, October is a magical month! Filled with weekend trips to apple orchards and pumpkin patches. Hay Rides, Cider Mills, and Costume Parties are staples on everyone’s calendars. Not to mention, that little ol’ tradition of TRICK OR TREATING! Walking the neighborhood with my friends and family, all decked out in costumes, hunting for treats is a classic childhood memory.

Today I’m sharing an EASY tutorial to create a GREAT Trick or Treat Tote for your little to use to gather their loot this season! This project is great for beginners and even easy enough for your kiddos to help make!  Cotton webbing for the handles adds to the bags durability, and Reflective Ribbon helps keep your little safer when they are out hunting in the dark!

ITS OCTOBER-TIME FOR COSTUMES!

10.02.2013

In my family, we LOVE Halloween!
Dressing up in handmade costumes is a tradition I look forward to every year.
The last few years have been extra special for me, as Iyla and Vivian have chosen their own costumes.
They love dressing up all year round and have such creative, imaginative spirits;
it’s a joy for me to make their visions a reality. They have been “Fancy Pumpkins” -
An Apple Tree - A Silly Clown - A penguin - An Owl - A Ladybug - A Lion.
This year, Viv has chosen to be a unicorn and Iyla chose to be the tooth fairy.
They both have very specific plans for their costumes and I am SO excited to create these fun costumes for them!

Here’s a peek at the drawing Viv gave me outlining her plan for her costume…

Gotta love a girl with vision! ;)
